She married Vikramjeet Singh Bhalla in 1992 and continued her education in Kanpur, where she completed her schooling at St Francis Convent and her Intermediate studies at Christ the King College Jhansi. She went on to pursue a Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate in English Literature from CSJM University Kanpur. Additionally, she holds a B.Ed and has completed a Diploma in Home Science from IPW Chandigarh and a PGCTE from CIEFL Hyderabad.
