Jayesh Shah is an Indian businessman, philanthropist, and animal welfare activist. He is best known as the Managing Director of Ravi Group, a prominent real estate development company in Mumbai, and for his charitable work in animal welfare and community development.[1]
Early life and education
Shah was born in 1967 in Mumbai, India. He completed his schooling in Mumbai and graduated with a degree in commerce.
Business career
Shah began his career in 1986 with a small clock trading business in Mumbai called 'Vimal Enterprise'. In 1996, he ventured into manufacturing with 'Riddhi Enterprise', producing 250 wall clocks daily in Morbi, Gujarat.
In 2001, Shah founded Sonam Clocks Pvt. Ltd., establishing a 200,000 square feet facility on the Morbi-Rajkot highway. This marked a significant expansion, increasing production to 25,000 clocks per day and establishing Shah as a leader in India's clock industry.
In the real estate sector, Shah joined Ravi Group, a company founded in 1965. As Managing Director, he has overseen the development of over 10 million square feet of residential and commercial projects, delivering approximately 17,000 housing units across more than 40 completed projects in Mumbai and its suburbs.[2]
Philanthropy and animal welfare
In 2013, an encounter with a pregnant stray dog seeking shelter in his warehouse inspired Shah to focus on animal welfare. In 2016, he founded the Help Animals and Birds Hospital in Mumbai, a state-of-the-art facility that can accommodate 40 dogs and 24 cats. The hospital provides free or low-cost medical care, sterilization, and vaccinations for stray animals.[3][4]
Shah personally oversees the operation of the hospital, investing about ₹1.7 lakh monthly from his own funds. The facility has treated over 200 stray dogs for various conditions, including complex surgeries.
In 2015, Shah established the 'Shree Ansuyaben Chhabildas Shah Charitable Trust', focusing on children's welfare, education, and healthcare. The trust's first major project was the construction of 'Champ Puri Tirth', a Jain temple and Vihar Dham for Jain saints.[5]

Shah is recognized for his efforts in combining business success with social responsibility. He has been praised for his hands-on approach to philanthropy and his commitment to improving the lives of both humans and animals in Mumbai.[6][7]
