Pirzada Saud Siddique al Qadri is an Indian Sunni Sufi scholar, Islamic preacher, and spiritual leader associated with the Furfura Sharif Darbar in West Bengal, India. He belongs to the Siddiqui Qurayshi and Syed lineages and is a descendant of the founders of the Furfura Silsila, a major Sufi tradition in Bengal with a history spanning over 800 years.[1]
Early life and background
Pirzada Saud Siddique al Qadri was born on 20 August (Rabi ul Awwal) in West Medinipur, West Bengal, India. His birth name is Abde Mustafa Pirzada Syed Abu Saeed Muhammad Saud Siddiqui Al Hussaini Wal Qadri. He is the only child of his parents. His father, Shah Sufi Pir Siraj Siddiqui al Qurayshi, is a spiritual teacher and descendant of Abu Bakr as-Siddiq, while his mother descends from Imam Hussain and is involved in the religious education of women.[2]
Lineage and spiritual heritage
He is the fourth-generation descendant of Hazrat Mujaddid-e-Zaman Pir Muhammad Abu Bakar Siddiq al-Qurayshi, founder of the Furfura Silsila. His lineage combines both Siddiqui and Hussaini ancestry, tracing spiritual heritage to the Prophet Muhammad. He is affiliated with the Qadri Sufi order and is also spiritually connected to the Chishti, Naqshbandi, and Mujaddidi traditions.
Education
Pirzada Saud Siddique al Qadri received his early religious education at local madrassas in West Bengal. He later studied at Furfura Fatehia Senior Title Madrasa, from which he received the honorific title “Fatehi”. In 2020, he was awarded Ijazah Sanad in Hadith studies by Allama Tahir ul Qadri. He also received spiritual training and bay‘ah from several scholars in India, Bangladesh, and the Arab world.
Career and activities
He is known for delivering religious sermons (waz) across India and Bangladesh and for his writings on Islamic spirituality and Sufism. His lectures cover topics including Islamic jurisprudence, Hadith, Sirah, Sufi philosophy, and ethics. He supervises the publication of religious books aimed at promoting traditional Islamic teachings and moral values.
